I made my three cards for this tutorial only knowing I was going to show you how to create this simple fun fold. What I didn’t realize is how much I would love using the Fluffy Squirrels to make it! It wasn’t my intention to use that one as the tutorial but I really fell in love with it. Isn’t it the cutest!! I think this could make a really cute Christmas card as well. We’ll definitely have to make some of those with this bundle.

How cute are these little friends? The punch works for the squirrel on the left and the acorn. Otherwise, you’ll have to fussy cut; no worries though because it’s all simple to cut. My base is Coastal Cabana, Gray Granite and some pretty DSP from the Nests of Winter. I am so glad Nests of Winter carried over from last year because it’s just so pretty! I stamped my squirrels in Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. The acorns are stamped in Memento Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends using Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. The little present is colored with Pool Party and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends. I used acorns as “embellishments” and added a bow. I used the same colors on the inside. By the way, I also stamped the greeting and sentiments in Gray Granite.
Here’s what you need to know to create this car.
CUTTING/SCORING
BASE: (Coastal Cabana) 8 1/2″x11″, score in half both ways so at 5 1/2″ on the long side and 4 1/4″ on the shorter side. With the long side at the top, remove the bottom left quadrant. Don’t forget to cut just a bit past the score line so your folds tuck in nicely. Then, score that flap at 1/2″, 1 3/4″ and 3″. This creates your pop out.
LAYERS FOR BASE: FRONT/INSIDE (Gray Granite) 4 1/8″x5 3/8″ (X2); (DSP FRONT) 2″x5 1/4″ (x2 using 2 different patterns); FRONT STRIP (Coastal Cabana) 1/4″x5 1/4″; INSIDE (DSP) 4″x5 1/4″; POP OUT LAYERS: (Gray Granite) 1 1/8″x5 3/8″; (DSP) 1″x5 1/4″
STEP: (Coastal Cabana) 4″x4 1/4″, with 4 1/4″ side at top, score at 1/2″ and 1 3/4″
LAYER FOR STEP: (Gray Granite) 3 7/8″x2 3/8″, (Basic White) 3 3/4″x2 1/4″

I used products from the Gallery Motifs Suite to create this sample. The base is Lost Lagoon and Pecan Pie. Instead of Basic White, I used Basic Beige since that works with the paper better. I colored my images to match the cardstock and added some Clear Wink of Stella for some extra shimmer on the flowers. I cut a couple of little rectangles with Nested Essentials and popped my greeting on one layer. The ribbon is also Basic Beige which brings it all together. This one is so pretty.

I used the Boho Vibes Suite for this last sample. You can’t beat that fun DSP. The base is Secret Sea this time. I adjusted my front layer to create a frame with the vibrant DSP and simply added a greeting from With You In Mind and then added a bow and some 2025-2027 In-Color Flat Pearls. The inside is simple with just a few stamped starbursts.
This fun fold is super easy and a good one to create several at one time. It works for holiday cards too! I hope you try it out soon!!
Happy Crafting!
