I love this fun fold and how nice it looks when displayed. I learned how to make it using 12×12 cardstock. However, RV life prevents me from having the space to keep a stash of 12×12 cardstock. Instead, I reconfigured this card to work with your 8 1/2×11 cardstock. It looks great, fits in an A2 envelope, and is sure to be loved by anyone who receive this beautiful card. I hope you enjoy making this one as much as I do.

Don’t the colors just pop! I used Petal Pink for the base and layered Secret Sea and lovely paper from the Lovely Blossoms Suite. It’s one of the many wonderful new products in the mini catalog. I love stripes and flowers together. The Cloud Cover stripes are just perfect here. I stamped in Secret Sea. If you want a little more accent color in your flowers, just grab a Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends marker and trace over the lines in your flower. I also brushed some Color Lifter over it all to soften the lines. You can use your bone folder to give a little life to your flowers so they aren’t flat. Just give them a little curl on the ends! To finish off the flowers, I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the flower centers. You can create a belly band, use a scrap of ribbon and make a bow to slide over the card or even just leave this card as it and slide it right in the envelope. It all works.

Here’s another sample using the same suite and just changing up the colors. This time I used Crumb Cake and Secret Sea. I created a belly band to close up this one. And, I wanted to show you what happens if you accidentally glue the side panels onto the base before adding the hammock. To fix this I just added panels to the hammock to give the front a nice flow. It still worked and I’m happy with it. So you can make mistakes, but there’s almost always a way to make it work!! That’s something I love about paper crafting.

Isn’t this last card so pretty! I created with products from the Beautiful Gallery Suite. I used Basic Beige for the base and layered it with Early Espresso so it matches the Designer Series Paper. Instead of using Designer Series Paper on the front panels, I embossed them with the Damask Designs Embossing Folder. I die cut some stems and added them to the front as well. If you’re wondering about the tag on the front, it’s punched from the Three Banner Punch. I use that punch all the time!
Have you tried this fold before? I hope this inspires you to create a beautiful card for someone special very soon.
Happy Crafting!
