In the past I’ve demonstrated a bookbinding fun fold and I’ve also done a few explosion cards, but what I hadn’t done yet is combine the two into one amazing card. Here’s my take on combining the two fun folds into a great card for your favorite human. Are you ready to make one with me?

I had several fellow crafters ask me to do some more masculine cards and in particular they wanted me t show more cards with the Nature Walk Suite. You asked and I answered – this one uses all the pretty products I the Nature Walk Suite. I used Pretty Peacock for the card base and layered it with the rustic Nature Hues Designer Series Paper. I also die cut some Earthen Toned Metallic Paper for a little glam. I stamped in Pretty Peacock and used some ribbon to match. The Faux Bronze Pentagon embellishments are also a part of the suite and are perfect for this card. Here’s what you need to know to make one yourself!!

CUTTING/SCORING MEASUREMENTS
BASE: (Pretty Peacock) 4 1/4″x11″, score at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″
FRONT LAYERS: ( Nature Walk DSP) 4″x4″; (Nature Hues DSP) 3 7/8″x3 7/8″**the smaller piece goes under in this one; (Nature Hues DSP) 4″x1″; (Nature Walk DSP) 3/4″x3 3/4″ **For a normal card without the die cut center you’d make the bottom layer 4″x4″ and the top layer 3 3/4″x3 3/4″
EXPLOSION: (Nature Walk DSP) 6″x6″, fold point to point on one side and then fold in half in both directions. **refer to video for folding tutorial
EXPLOSION LAYERS: (Nature Hues DSP) 2 3/4″x2 3/4″ (x2) **or you can do DSP 2 3/4″x2 3/4″ and Basic White/Vanilla 2 1/2″x 2 1/2″

This is a great fold for the Boho Vibes Suite. All those bright colors really make this card pop!! The card base is Secret Sea layered with Daffodil. Delight. I die cut the rainbow piece with the same colors in the rainbow on the DSP (Mossy Meadow, Secret Sea, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze and Petal Pink). I stamped in Daffodil Delight and Secret Sea and used some Darling Duckling Ribbon to finish off the card.

I think this last card ended up being my favorite! I love the bright colors and whimsical wording. I used the gorgeously sparkly Splash of Sparkles Specialty Designer Series Paper – it’s so impressive!! I paired that paper with Timid Tiger and Shaded Spruce. I stamped in Shaded Spruce and also embossed my greeting with White Embossing Powder. The Not 29 Anymore stamps are on the Last Chance List so they’ll be gone soon. I hope Stampin’ Up brings out some more whimsical word sets like this in the future because it’s a lot of fun! This is another card that will work for any gender, too!

Next time you want to create a card that really pops, try one of these and definitely make this fold so you can impress them with 2 fun folds in 1 amazing card.

Happy Crafting!
