How to Make a Polaroid Card

You may have seen this layout around, but have you created cards using it? It’s so versatile that I found it worthy of a share to all my crafty friends out there. I’m making a few stacks of these in preparation for an upcoming card sale. People love them; I love making them…and I hope you do too!

Once you get started on making these, you just can’t stop! They’re simple to make and you can create a whole stack of them in no time flat. You can make several cards from a single sheet of 6×6 DSP! Are you one of those “plan ahead” crafters who like to have cards at the ready…this one is great for you!

I used a base of Night of Navy. On the front of the card, layered some Melon Mambo under Pretty In Pink. The Pretty in Pink is a light shade so I can stamp right on it. I used a small square of DSP from the Everyday Skies 6×6 DSP. I finished off the card with a few embellishments and an inside sentiment from the Hope You Know stamp set.

CUTTING/SCORING
BASE: (Night of Navy) 11″ x 4 1/4″, score at 5 1/2″
LAYER: (Melon Mambo) 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
LAYER: (Pretty in Pink) 3″ x 4 1/4″
DSP: 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
INSIDE: (BASIC WHITE) 4″ x 5 1/4″

This next sample uses the same products, but in a different color. My base this time is Misty Moonlight and I embossed the front of the base. I layered some Cajun Craze under the DSP and the panel I stamped on is Fresh Freesia. Again, I stamped with the With You in Mind Stamps. Don’t you love those stormyish clouds.

This next sample uses the Take to the Sky Suite. The base is Cajun Craze layered with Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. I’m really thrilled with how cool this came out. It might just be my baby brother’s card since his birthday is right around the corner!

I used Storybook Friends for this one. The DSP had the perfect images for a Polaroid Card! The base is Old Olive layered with Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. All I stamped inside is the cabbage stamp from the coordinating Storybook Garden stamps. It’s such a sweet card.

This final card is a really sweet birthday card. I used the Wildflower Birthday DSP. The base is Coastal Cabana with Night of Navy and Pretty in Pink layers. I added a few low profile dots to the front to add even more gold. The greeting and sentiment is from Cake Celebrations. I love how this one turned out.

This layout came together so fast. I’ll be planning ahead and making many more. I’ll even be using it in an upcoming class next week. I hope you enjoyed this one!!

Happy Crafting!!
