I love a pop up card because the person who receives it is going to get such a fun surprise. The pop ups are fun to decorate, too! This was originally an oversize card, so I engineered it to fit perfectly in an A2 envelope. The pop ups fold down and fit beautifully within the card when it is closed. I almost gave up on this one because I had several failed attempts, however, I persevered and now I have a card fold I absolutely love – and I know you will too!

How cute and cheerful is this!! I am so happy with how it came out – especially after a few fails when I was trying to rework the sizing. I used Daffodil Delight for my base and paired it with the vibrant Boho Vibes Designer Series Paper. Then I grabbed my Pop Up Petals Bundle and went to work. Pop Up Petals is such a great set because you can use it for so many things. And there’s a die that makes the pop up mechanism for the middle of a card – I didn’t use it here, but it can be used for any card you make with any other stamp set too. I enjoy versatility and mixing and matching my products. I stamped my greeting and sentiment in Secret Sea and stamped my flowers and butterflies in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink so I could use my Stampin’ Blends to color them in. I just grabbed colors that are in the DSP so everything is perfectly color coordinated. I also added some Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for some extra shimmer because in my humble opinion you just can’t have enough shimmer! To finish off my card, I added a couple of white string bows and added some Moody Palette Glossy Dots in Secret Sea.

CUTTING/SCORING MEASUREMENTS
BASE: (Daffodil Delight) 5 1/2″x81/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
FRONT: (Basic White) 4″x5 1/4″; (DSP) 2″x4″
INSIDE: (DSP) 4″x5 1/4″ (x2)
INSIDE SENTIMENTS: (Daffodil Delight) 1 5/8″x3 5/8″ (x2); (Basic White) 1 1/2″x3 1/2″ (X2)

CUBES: 6″x 6 1/2″, with the 6 1/2″ end at the top, score at 1 1/2″, 3″, 4 1/2″ and 6″. Then, with the 6″ side at the top, cut at 3″ and then cut at 1 1/2″. This gives you a 3x 6 1/2″ piece and two 1 1/2″x 6 1/2″ pieces to form 3 cubes.
CUBE LAYERS: 1 3/8″x1 3/8″ pieces – however many you want to use. you can put them inside the cubes as well if you want to. I used 4 with DSP, 1 Basic White, and covered one cube with a flower vase. **You can also make these 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ instead – I use that size a lot when I make these cards.

Do you have the Perennial Postage Dies? They’re so versatile. They just happen to work perfectly on this card. The largest rectangles are perfect for the front and the small square happens to be the exact perfect size for the cubes!!!! I had no idea until I started playing around with it. Bonus!!!!

I used Cloud Cove for the Base and layered Secret Sea and Designer Series Paper from Florals in Bloom. To make this card perfect, I used the Choose Happy stamps. I love this stamp set because it has something for all year long. It’s chock full of the cutest images and so many words to create cards throughout the year. They’re easy to color with Stampin’ Blends and to fussy cut. I finished off my card with some Clear Wink of Stella, Strawberry Slush ribbon and some Sparkle Dot Essentials.

This final sample is a Valentine’s Day Card. I don’t send.a lot of these so I use what I have! I purchased a pack of Made With Love Designer Series Paper and pair it with what I already have. So many stamps can double as a sweet Valentine’s vibe. I used the Sweet Jar stamps for this card and paired it with stamps from Reason to Celebrate. If you have Reason to Celebrate you have stamps that work for everything!!! I think it’s important to have a few sets like this so you always have what you want for a card – sometimes a stamp set you want to use just doesn’t have the right words for the card you want to send – having these word sets fills the gap!

My card base is Flirty Flamingo. I embossed the Basic White panel on the front with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder and used Everyday Arch Dies for the smaller front piece. I stamped in Real Red, Strawberry Slush and Tuxedo Black. I’ll probably add a white string blow to the jar because I think it needs that!!

I know you’ll get a lot of joy from making this fun pop up card for someone you love. I really enjoyed making these once I was able to get it down to my favorite A2 size.

Thanks for stopping by and as always- Happy Crafting!!
