I haven’t made an accordion card lately so it was time to do just that! I love how the folds show off all that pretty designer series paper. This is a simple fun fold that is easy to create a whole stack in not time. Just plan out your design and cut several at once. Remember, you can cut a few sheets of DSP at the same time to make it even quicker. It’s also a great way to use up some of that retired ribbon and paper to make room for all the gorgeous new products.

It’s July and that means the wild sunflowers are really popping up here in Colorado. They are everywhere and I always enjoy seeing them. They make great bouquets on the table too! I used that inspiration to create this card. I used a base of Garden Green and layered it with Daffodil Delight. This happy sunflower paper comes from the Floral Impressions 12×12 paper – part of the Floral Impressions Suite. There are so many gorgeous floral papers and background patterns in that paper. Be sure to check them out. I stamped in Garden Green and the sunflower is Pecan Pie and Crushed Curry. To create the banner on the front, I used a die from the Stylish Shapes dies. To close the accordion, just add some ribbon or twine to that part of the card before you add it to the card base. Don’t forget your embellishments too…I used some ’25-’27 In Color Flat Pearls. Here’s what you need to know to create this card.
CUTTING/SCORING MEASUREMENTS
BASE: (Garden Green) 4 1/4″x5 1/2″; (Daffodil Delight embossed) 4″x5 1/4″
ACCORDION: (Garden Green) 4 1/4″x11″, score at 1″, 3″, 5 1/2″, and 8″
DSP: (Floral Impressions) cut 4″x5 1/4″ and then with long side at the top, cut into strips 1/2″, 3/4″, 1 3/4″, and 2 1/4″
BASIC WHITE: 2 3/4″x4″, 2 1/4″x4″, scrap for banner or greeting.

I love this card so much. I paired Shy Shamrock and Bubble Bath cardstock. The DSP comes from the Florals in Blooms Suite. I really enjoy the suites since they come with everything to coordinate your cards. The dies are super neat since you can cut out two layers of the words “lovely” and bloom”. I also used dies from Nested Essentials to create a base for the word “lovely.” Instead of embossing the layer on the card, I simply stamped leaves on the paper using Shy Shamrock for a tone on tone look.

This last sample is so pretty. The base is Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive. I used the Mini Corrugated 3D embossing folder to add texture to the Old Olive layer. I used DSP and laser cut pieces from the Wildflower Birthday 12×12 Specialty Paper. I used the Year of Flowers stamp set to stamp the greeting and sentiment on this card. The wording is perfect for any card with lots of pretty flowers! I embellished this card with gold hearts for extra sweetness.
Do you enjoy accordion folds? I hope you enjoy this one! Happy Crafting.
