If you love fun fold cards that surprise and delight, you’re going to fall in love with this Easel Book Card! I recently learned two different book-style fun folds and couldn’t wait to share this one with you.
I’ve loved reading ever since I was a little girl, so it’s no surprise that book-themed cards instantly captured my heart. Just like a favorite novel, this card draws you in from the very first glance. It’s interactive, elegant, and one your recipient will proudly display long after they’ve opened it.
To make this project even more special, I paired it with the NEW Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System. The beautiful metallic shine adds an elegant finishing touch that makes this fun fold card truly unforgettable.

Nature Walk Suite Easel Book Card
Isn’t this card gorgeous?
The shimmer from the silver hot foil adds just the right amount of elegance. For my first card, I used a Secret Sea card base paired with the beautiful Nature Walk Suite Collection. The Designer Series Paper coordinates perfectly with the silver foil accents for a timeless look.
In my video tutorial, I take extra time to demonstrate exactly how to use the Stampin’ Hot Foil System because I want you to see just how easy it is.
For the sentiments, I used the Sweetly Sentimental Hot Foil Dies, one of my favorite new products. One die foils 11 sentiments at once, and the coordinating die cuts each one into adorable tags. I keep a collection of them in a small tin so they’re always ready whenever I need a greeting.
For the large greeting on the front of the card, I chose the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies. I love the bold statement they make, and the coordinating die creates a perfectly finished look every time.
To finish the book cover, I added a beautiful textured foil design using one of the Echoes of Detail Hot Foil Dies. Several of the Hot Foil Die sets also coordinate with stamps, making it easy to combine stamping and foiling for even more creative possibilities.
I completed the card with simple stamping, layered floral die cuts, and a delicate shimmery bow. It makes the perfect birthday card for a special friend.
One Design, Endless Possibilities
One of my favorite things about this Easel Book Card is how versatile it is.
Using the exact same layout, I created a beautiful Thinking of You version. Simply changing the sentiment gives the card an entirely different feel, making this design perfect for birthdays, sympathy cards, encouragement, thank you cards, anniversaries, and so much more.

Here’s what you need to know to create your card.
CUTTING SCORING MEASUREMENTS
BASE: (Secret Sea) 8 1/2″x5 1/2″, score at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″
PANELS: (DSP) 5 1/4″ x 1 7/8″ (x2); (Basic White) 5 1/4″x 1 7/8″
EASEL STOPPER: (Secret Sea) 5 1/4″ x 7/8″; (DSP) 5″x5/8″
LARGE PAGES: (Basic White) 5 1/8″x3 7/8″, score at 2 9/16″; (DSP) 4 7/8″x3 5/8″, score at 2 7/16″
MEDIUM PAGES: (Basic White) 4 5/8″x3 3/8″, score at 2 5/16″; (DSP) 4 3/8″x3 1/8″, score at 2 3/16″
**You’ll also want dimensionals to raise up the stopper for the book to sit against. And, grab some Tearin’ Tape to hold the book in place.

Moonlit Flora Easel Book Card
My next sample features the gorgeous Moonlit Flora Suite Collection.
I chose Berry Burst for the card base and let all of the coordinating products do the rest of the work. I added layered foliage, beautiful floral die cuts, and a few delicate moths to create a design that feels as though it’s coming to life right off the page.
One of my favorite decorating tips is to keep the elements on the front cover loose and dimensional rather than gluing everything flat. This creates movement and gives the book a more natural, storybook feel.

Silly Old Bear Easel Book Card
You knew I couldn’t resist creating a version with the adorable Silly Old Bear Suite!
As a child, I owned several Winnie-the-Pooh books, so this suite immediately reminded me of those treasured stories.
For this version, I used a Golden Glow card base with Very Vanilla pages, panels, and tag. I always begin by selecting the Designer Series Paper for the front cover and then build my entire color palette around that scene.
To capture the charm of the Hundred Acre Wood, I added lots of die-cut oak leaves and acorns throughout the design.
Instead of layering Designer Series Paper on the easel stopper, I embossed the panel with the Hundred Acre Wood 3D Embossing Folder. The added texture creates wonderful depth while perfectly complementing the whimsical theme.
You’ll Love Making Easel Book Cards
I truly think you’re going to enjoy creating this Easel Book Card. It’s one of those projects that’s just as much fun to design as it is to give away.
Whether you’re making birthday cards, thinking of you cards, thank you cards, or holiday cards, this fun fold offers endless decorating possibilities. Pair it with your favorite Stampin’ Up! Suite Collection and you’ll have a one-of-a-kind handmade card that’s sure to impress.
