I just love a good book—and I also love a good card shaped like a book! This Pop Out Book Card is such a fun and unique way to send someone a handmade card that feels extra special from the moment they open it.
One of the things I love most about this fun fold card design is how versatile it is. It can be elegant, whimsical, heartfelt, or even a little silly depending on the stamps, colors, and Designer Series Paper you choose. You can personalize the “pages” in so many ways and even add additional pages if you’d like.
I create my Pop Out Book Card as a 5” x 7” fun fold card. You can certainly resize the design to fit a standard A2 envelope, but I find that the smaller version doesn’t have quite the same WOW factor. This is one fun fold where I think bigger really is better!
Pop Out Book Card with Begonia Belle

For my first Pop Out Book Card, I used the July Product of the Month, Begonia Belle. This beautiful two-step stamp set creates gorgeous floral images and was perfect for an elegant book-style card.
My card base is Basic Black cardstock, with Poppy Parade pages layered inside. Of course, I used Basic White for the top pages so those vibrant stamped begonias would really pop!
For the front of the card, I added Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper. I absolutely love this DSP! The elegance of the black-and-white pattern works beautifully with the vibrant begonias.
To give the flowers even more dimension, I stamped two of each bloom and layered them together. Before adhering them, I gently curled the petals to give the flowers a little more movement and life. A greeting and some shiny black ribbon were the perfect finishing touches.
I know so many of you especially love floral handmade cards, and I think this one is going to be a favorite!

Velvet Meadows Pop Out Book Card
For my second sample, I used the gorgeous Velvet Meadows Suite. Yes, it’s another floral card for all of my fellow flower lovers!
I started with a Bubble Bath card base and added a layer of Berry Burst to the front. I also created a pretty framed greeting using the Phrases and Frames Bundle.
There’s Designer Series Paper on both the front and inside of this card, and the velvet texture of the paper makes this design even more special. It’s so pleasing to touch and adds such beautiful elegance to the finished card.
On the inside, I used DSP for the middle pages and added just one Basic White panel for a handwritten message. The opposite panel features more Designer Series Paper along with an extra arrangement of die-cut florals.
I even added ribbon to the inside for one final elegant touch. I’m so pleased with how this version turned out!
Cute as a Bug Pop Out Book Card
For my final sample, I went in a completely different direction—cute, colorful, and playful!
I used the Cute as a Bug Suite to create this adorable Pop Out Book Card. My card base is Old Olive with touches of Crushed Curry, which created the perfect backdrop for all those sweet little critters.
On the front, I built a fun scene using Designer Series Paper along with a few cute bugs and mushrooms. Inside the card, I added more DSP and stamped a trail of little ants marching across the page.
Those ants are just the cutest!
This sample is a great example of how easily you can change the entire personality of this book-style fun fold card simply by changing your paper, colors, and stamps.
Now the hardest part is deciding which friend should receive it. Maybe I just need to whip up a few more!
