It’s just about Fall, y’all! 🍂 And you know how much I love this time of year! Fall is definitely my favorite season—the rich colors, cozy textures, changing weather, and all those warm, inviting vibes.

I’m also super excited about the new September–December Stampin’ Up! catalog, which is chock-full of everything you need to create beautiful fall and winter cards, scrapbook pages, and handmade gifts.

I’ve had a Cradle Card on my list of fun folds to share with you for a while, and I instantly knew I wanted to create one using the gorgeous specialty Designer Series Paper that was featured as August’s Product of the Month. The shimmer and soft colors are absolutely beautiful and perfect for a fall-inspired card.

Fall is a vibe—and I love when I can create a handmade card that captures that exact feeling!

A Cradle Card Full of Fall Beauty

This card combines so many of my favorite things: shimmer, rich color, softness, metallic accents, beautiful textures, and a little bit of sparkle. Honestly, I think I picked the paper and embellishments before I even knew exactly what I was going to create!

And I’m so happy with how this card turned out. I knew I had to share this Cradle Card tutorial with you!

I started with Cajun Craze for my card base and layered it with Golden Glow Cardstock and the stunning, shimmery Glow of Harvest Specialty Designer Series Paper, which was August’s Product of the Month.

If you love specialty Designer Series Paper as much as I do, be sure to check out September’s Product of the Month, Luxe Foliage Specialty DSP. It’s another gorgeous option with beautiful details that will be perfect for fall and holiday projects.

For my greeting and decorative details, I used the Framed & Fabulous Bundle. I used the dies to create the scalloped layer and added beautiful hot foil details for even more shine. But don’t worry if you don’t have this bundle—you can easily substitute a circle, scallop, or even a square die from your stash.

I also embossed the Golden Glow strips with the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder, which added a beautiful, soft, linen-like texture.

For my greeting and sentiment, I used copper embossing powder to coordinate with the copper hot foil on the scalloped layer. I love how all of these little details work together!

I finished the card with Golden Glow Ribbon and coordinating embellishments. I think this one may be headed to my sweet mother-in-law because I know she’ll love the soft colors, rich textures, and beautiful shimmer.

Here’s what you need to know to create this card.

CUTTING/SCORING MEASUREMENTS
BASE: CRADLE (Cajun Craze) 4 1/4″x6″, score at 1″, 2″, 3″, 4″, and 5″; CARD (Cajun Craze) 4 1/4″x8 1/2″, score at 1/2″, 4 1/4″ and 8″
LAYERS FOR CARD: (DSP) 3 1/2″x4″ (x2); (Golden Glow) 2 7/8″x3 3/8″; (Basic White) 2 3/4″x 3 1/4″

A Masculine Cradle Card

I also needed a few more masculine-style cards for some upcoming occasions, so I pulled out one of my favorite collections, the Waterside Retreat Suite.

I still love this suite so much!

For this version, I used Old Olive for the card base and layered it with Pecan Pie Cardstock. I die cut an Adirondack chair, a seagull, and some cattails to create a little scene on the front of the card.

I used the Banner Trio Punch for my greeting and layered it for a little extra dimension. I simply stamped on the back of the card to create another little scene.

This card came together so quickly, and I know it’s going to be loved!

A Bright & Whimsical Fall Cradle Card

For my final card, I reached for the vibrant Painted Patch 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper.

I didn’t purchase the entire suite, but I absolutely could not pass up this paper! It’s vibrant, colorful, and has just the right amount of whimsy. It coordinates beautifully with so many of my fall-themed stamps.

And don’t overlook the reverse sides of the sheets! There are so many fun background patterns that can be used throughout the entire year—not just for fall projects.

For this card, I used Pool Party for the card base with a little Calypso Coral for layering. The pumpkins were pretty easy to fussy cut, but if you purchase the coordinating suite, you’ll have dies to make that process even easier.

I used the Framed & Fabulous stamps again for the greeting and sentiment. I have a feeling that stamp set is going to get used over and over throughout the year!

Have you ever made a Cradle Card before?

If not, I hope you’ll give this fun fold card a try! It’s surprisingly simple to make, but the finished card looks so unique. I love when a card has that little “wow” factor when someone opens the envelope.

And really, isn’t that one of the best things about handmade cards? Everyone loves getting a surprise in the mail—especially when it’s a unique handmade card!

Be sure to watch my step-by-step Cradle Card tutorial on YouTube to see exactly how this fun fold comes together.
