There are times when you want your card to share a little extra meaning—and this design does just that. This Easter card combines a sweet, whimsical touch with its adorable sheep on the front, while opening to reveal a beautiful pop-up cross that honors the true spirit of the season.

One of the things I love most about this design is how versatile it is. While it’s perfect for Easter, the elegant pop-up cross also makes it a thoughtful choice for sympathy, get well, thinking of you, or new baby cards. It’s equally meaningful for special faith-centered occasions like communion, confirmation, and baptism.

Best of all, this card is simple to create and offers endless possibilities for personalization. With just a few changes in colors, papers, or embellishments, you can easily tailor it to suit any occasion or recipient.

Check out this sweet little Easter card! The adorable sheep from the Wooly Friends Bundle adds such a charming, whimsical touch to the front. When you open the card, you’re greeted with a simple yet beautiful pop-up cross, embossed with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder for added texture and interest.

I kept the design mostly clean and simple—just a few Loose Gold Sequins for a subtle sparkle—so the details really shine. The Easter Joy Designer Series Specialty Paper brings in a fun pop of springtime color, along with soft metallic accents that add just the right amount of whimsy. I truly love this paper!

For the focal elements, I stamped and punched the sheep, then added a bit of soft coloring to bring it to life. Inside the card, I continued the scene with stamped tulips and grass, along with another playful, frolicking sheep. The “Happy Easter” greeting is from the Reasons to Celebrate stamp set—a wonderful, versatile set you’ll find yourself reaching for all year long.

To finish it off, I used Crumb Cake for the card base and Balmy Blue for the main cross layer, creating a soft and calming color palette that perfectly complements the design.

CUTTING/SCORING MEASUREMENTS
BASE: (Crumb Cake) 4 1/4″x11″, score at 5 1/2″
CROSS: (Balmy Blue) 5 1/4″ x 5″, with 5″ at the top score at 1 3/8″, 1 7/8″, 3 1/8″ and 3 5/8″
HORIZONTAL CROSS PANEL: (Balmy Blue) 1 1/4″x 3 1/4″
LAYERS: (DSP) 1 1/8″x5″ (x2) *outside panels; (Crumb Cake) 1″x5″ *center cross; (Crumb Cake) 3/8″x5″ (x2) *sides of cross; (Crumb Cake) 1 1/8″x3 1/8″ *horizontal cross layer
INSIDE: (Basic White) 4″x5 1/4″

I absolutely love how this card came together!  The combination of Garden Green and Basic Black for the card base creates a rich, elegant foundation that really makes the design stand out. The cross is beautifully layered with Nature Walk Designer Series Paper, adding both texture and visual interest.  For the greeting, I used a Stylish Shapes die and heat embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder, which pairs perfectly with the warm tones in the Earthen Tones Metallic Paper. To finish the design, I used the Nature’s Symphony dies to add detail both inside and outside of the card. These extra touches bring everything together and give the card a polished, cohesive look while still keeping that natural, organic feel.

I may have gone a little layer-happy with this card—and I’m not mad about it! The base features Secret Sea and Old Olive, creating a rich, earthy backdrop that works beautifully with all the added details.

I used coordinating products from the Lovely Blossoms Suite, which meant lots of die cutting and layering (my favorite!). The flowers have soft Cloud Cover accents, along with a touch of Clear Wink of Stella for just the right amount of sparkle.

If I make this design again, I think I would swap out the Designer Series Paper on the cross for Cloud Cover cardstock. That change would really help the Secret Sea circles stand out a bit more and give the design even more contrast.

Do you send Easter cards? This design is especially lovely for sympathy or get well cards when paired with a heartfelt sentiment. It’s one of those versatile layouts you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again.
