How to Make a Pull Out and Pop Up Card

I love the Online Exclusives and I certainly look forward to adding all those new products throughout the year. I especially enjoy this one because I purchased it during the BOGO 50% off sale in June. I’m always down for saving money – that’s also a reason I’m a demonstrator! I love the demo discounts!…

I love the Online Exclusives and I certainly look forward to adding all those new products throughout the year. I especially enjoy this one because I purchased it during the BOGO 50% off sale in June. I’m always down for saving money – that’s also a reason I’m a demonstrator! I love the demo discounts!

This Pull Out/Pop Up Card is simple, versatile, and really looks neat when it’s done. No matter what the occasion, this fold will work for you!

The Floral Charm Suite is perfect for birthday and thank you cards. I love the wording stamps that are included for that! Of course the Designer Series Paper is fabulous in all its double-sided beauty. I chose a palette of Night of Navy with accents of Pretty Peacock, Night of Navy and Berry Burst. They are so pretty together. I also added some Flower Garden Foils Specialty Paper for a splash of silver glam. Similar to last week’s video Pop & Twist Card, I embossed my images and colored them in with my Stampin’ Blends – this time with Berry Burst, Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy to mimic the colors in the DSP I chose for this card. There are a ton of ways to change this up – just check out my other two samples below for more ideas. Here’s how to create this card.

CUTTING/SCORING MEASUREMENTS
BASE: (Night of Navy) 5 1/2″x8 1/2″, score at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″
BASE LAYER: (Charming Day DSP) 1 7/8″x5 1/4″ (x2); (DSP) 4″x5 1/4″
BASE SCORING: With DSP layers mentioned above already attached, fold card closed and place on cutter at 1 1/2″ mark and then cut upwards 3/4″; then, move card over to the 4″ mark and repeat by cutting upwards 3/4″ again. Score a line from each cut to join cuts and then fold. **Refer to video
INSIDE LAYER: (Basic White) 3″x5″; (DSP) 1/2″x5″
FRONT SHAPES: (Night of Navy) 3″x3″; 1 3/4″x1 3/4″ (x2)
FRONT SHAPE LAYERS: (Flower Garden Foils) 2 3/4″x2 3/4″; (Charming Day DSP) 1 1/2″x1 1/2″ (x2)
INSIDE POP UP: (Night of Navy) 3 3/4″x3 3/4″, cut in half diagonally
LAYER FOR INSIDE POP UP: (Flower Garden Foils) 3 1/2″x3 1/2″, cut in half diagonally

This card was fun to make! I used the Boho Vibes Suite and let that gorgeous paper do most of the work. The base is Cajun Craze, but I also. change it up and made some of the front pieces Night of Navy. Instead of using a diamond shape on the front center, I created a rainbow instead. The dies in this suite are so much fun. I stamped in Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight.

I used the Framed Scene Stamps for this last card. They’re unique and make for a great masculine card. I layered Timeless Plaid DSP throughout the card. I also used the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the diamond pieces. The base is Pecan Pie and I also added in some Early Espresso. I stamped in Early Espresso and used my Stampin’ Blends to color in the scene. Since there are no dies for the scenes, I simply fussy cut them – easy peasy!!

There are so many more ways to make this card – using all kinds of shapes and images. Play around with it and see what you can come up with! I know you’ll create your own perfect masterpiece!!

Happy Crafting!
