Do you remember those colorful little pinwheels that spun perfectly in the breeze? They always felt a little magical. I still remember running through the yard with one held high above my head, watching the colors blur together as it twirled and spun. As a Fourth of July baby, mine was always red, white, and blue around my birthday! This fun fold card brings back all those cheerful pinwheel memories. While I may not be running through a field with this one, I will be turning it around and admiring every little detail.
The 6 Panel Pinwheel Card is such a fun project to create because each panel becomes its own tiny canvas. You can keep the design clean and simple or embellish every section with layers, texture, and dimension. No matter which way the card is displayed, there’s always something pretty to see.

For my first card, I used Misty Moonlight cardstock for the base and decorated the panels with the Everyday Essentials Mix & Match 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper. I absolutely love the versatility of this paper pack — it includes florals, stripes, dots, and subtle patterns that work beautifully for almost any style of card. For the greeting and embellishments, I used the Scalloped Blooms Bundle. The layered scallop dies are incredibly versatile and can be used for tags, flowers, layering pieces, and so much more. I created simple layered flowers using Bubble Bath and Basic White cardstock for a soft, elegant look. Some panels were left plain while others were decorated with flowers and bows, creating a balanced design that looks beautiful from every angle.
Here’s what you need to know to create this card.

My second card features a cheerful “Thinking of You” theme. I wanted this card to feel bright and uplifting — the kind of happy mail that instantly brings a smile. I used Strawberry Slush cardstock paired with the Beautiful Ordinary Life 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper, which is full of vibrant, cheerful patterns. The greeting and sentiment come from the Framed All Around Stamp Set. One of my favorite techniques on this card was stamping directly onto the Designer Series Paper and coloring with Stampin’ Blends to coordinate with the printed colors. I finished the design with a simple tag from the Nested Essentials Dies and a sweet Pool Party bow.

And finally — my favorite card of the bunch! Although honestly, I think I say that every time I use the Waterside Retreat Suite Collection. This card was created for my father-in-law for Father’s Day, and I know he’s going to love the outdoorsy, nautical feel. The Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper was the perfect choice for this design. Since he loved fishing in his younger days, I leaned into a relaxed lakeside theme by adding die-cut seagrass, cattails, and a tiny seagull perched on a rustic Adirondack chair. I stamped the chair directly onto the Designer Series Paper and colored it with Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends to coordinate with the Pecan Pie cardstock base. To finish the card, I added twine and a Loose Anchor Trinket for a little extra charm. This design would also make a wonderful masculine birthday card!
Are you inspired to give the 6 Panel Pinwheel Card a try? I know you probably already have some Designer Series Paper in your stash that would be absolutely perfect for this fun fold. This is one of those cards that’s just as enjoyable to create as it is to display.
Happy Crafting!
